‘Social Debates Forum’ – About Project

Registration Fee shall be 50% for the first 50 teams registering at every location.

Every person should express opinions openly, only then will the Government know what people want. Common people expressing opinions in elaborate debate format will spread awareness as well as bring out suggestions for betterment of the nation. It will be our responsibility to ensure the expressed thoughts reach up to the people who may make a difference.

Why do you want to be just a spectator?

Why don't you challenge opinions of “experts”; who mostly choose to be politically correct ?

Objective:

  • 1. Create a platform from where views, opinions and ideas of common people will be heard to the extent of being noticed by the people; and ultimately the lawmakers.
  • 2. Create better awareness on the topic for people to form well informed opinions with unmanipulated opinions or perceptions of “experts”.
  • 3. Publish the debates (live or recorded) on an open media for people to endorse or oppose views.

The Plan:

  • 1. Social Debates Forum will run a series of debates on two topics annually. In view of the Reservation Policy renewal in January 2020, topic for 2019-20 is Reservations. Debates on the subject will happen in as many cities possible till 14th January 2020. State / Zonal rounds of debates shall happen between 16th & 20th January.
  • 2. We will offer a readymade project to Institutes / Organizations in different cities to be part of the series of debates that goes through District, State / Zonal Rounds up to a National Finale. 2019-20 Reservations ends with a National Finale on 24th January 2020.
  • 3. Debates shall be open to all in 2 categories. Students and Non-students. (people who seriously want to voice out opinions and contribute to Nation Building).
  • 4. Best participants shall progress from District level to State / Zonal and National Finale of debates in a competitive format.

Most of the educated and contributing section of India discusses social issues only in private conversations or social media. May be 0.000001% of posts / comments on social media by common people get noticed. Their opinions never come out; ‘leaders’ easily pressurize appointed committees with misguided people; or in many cases engaged paid ‘protestors’. Policy makers make policies or amendments to policies for political benefits; which get perceived as beneficial by the ill-informed, but in reality may prove detrimental to the country. With more and more educated common people openly discussing and debating the subject; more and more ill-informed people will understand the benefits / drawbacks. Join us toward Nation Building in a positive and (civilized educated) democratic way.

AMEN LLP had started Project Let’s Change in 2013. A report of the number of common people that joined the project submitted to Gujarat CMO in December 2013 may have inspired Mission Swachh Bharat to be launched in 2014. Project Let’s Change had faced a major resistance from the very people that later endorsed everything they had resisted. Our ‘Deshbhakti Challenge’ and ‘Swabhimaan’ that proved public acceptance for reservations only to the financially challenged in 2018 too experienced resistance from all people in influential positions we approached. But the on ground activity involving many common people may have reached the right ears; and inspired Reservations for EWS proposal; that passed almost unopposed in 2019. This was followed with a pilot project of debates on reservations - MIT-SOG Your Swabhimaan Review.

We realized that common people have many thoughts and want to participate in debates on social issues to voice out their opinions. Hence MIT-SOG Your Swabhimaan Review is converting to Social Debates Forum – Annually 2 Debates on social issues For, Of, By Common People. Wherever possible, SDF shall also invite public servants / representative, known / eminent personalities etc to debates. This will be a “bridge” to put across views, opinions and ideas of common people on social topics toward Nation Building through face-to-face (live) debates.

You may choose to Register for 2019-20 Reservations or Register as a Member for Multiple Debates.

Please feel free to contact us on myapsaramedia@gmail.com or 96878 77799 if you are a part of an Institute / Organization that may be interested to Join Us as partners to Host Debates.

‘Social Debates Forum’ - Introductory Film

Registration Fee shall be 50% for the first 50 teams registering at every location.

“Ye Saccha Swabhimaan Sahi Sangharsh” (Ye4S) is a film for the “Let’s Change” series. People refrain from speaking out their honest opinions on the Reservation System, mostly because of a fear that it gets carried to religion / caste / community controversies. But this is not true; it gets carried away only if it is intentionally taken in that direction.

Ye4S will introduce to a way of taking this discussion on logic and practicality. This film is not made as a “preacher” or an art film. It is attempted to be kept entertaining while giving enough food for thought in a subtle way. Though the budgets had to be kept very tight, we have tried to keep it as close to being a regular entertaining film as possible. The film comes with its moments of song, dance, light comedy and romance.

“Ye Saccha Swabhimaan Sahi Sangharsh” has been honored recently with
“Outstanding Achievement Award” at Calcutta International Cult Film Festival.

Your review of the film should be kept interesting to read. In your review of film, in minimum 200 and maximum 600 words; you need to cover at least any 2 of the 4 points mentioned below:

    a. Use of film media for social awareness and change attempted in the film.

    b. Highlighting of politics done over reservation system as shown in the film.
